Summer 1997-Autumn 2001
Fika were formed in 1997 by Fiona Fahlin (ex-Ran Tan Band) and Lars Fahlin. For Simon Dew and Miranda Rutter, it represented a widening of their musical horizons alongside their work with Jabadaw. The band were a concert act who concentrated on the rich and varied music of Sweden. The band played several major folk festivals in England, including Sidmouth, Fylde, Cheltenham and Towersey. They effectively disbanded when Miranda left Jabadaw at the end of 2001.
